This cross is the Tau Cross (Tau Cruz) of St Francis. It has been hand carved in Asturias, northern Spain, and is hung on a 925 sterling silver snake chain which compliments the jet black azabache perfectly. This cross is symbolic of the Franciscan Order and of St Francis of Assisi, and also a symbol of life and reincarnation, as well as pilgrimage. It is often thought of as meaning contemplation, acceptance, patience and waiting, as someone moves on in their life or goes on a journey.
